Love the Christmas light/music show! We live just below you on Park Ave. We have had gatherings for the holidays at our home and we take everyone on a big "treat" to your house to view the show. It's becoming a tradition. Keep up the great work! Greatly appreciated by your 183 Park Ave neighbors. Jay, Cathy and Ryan Salk.

Hi, We can't wait to see this year's display. We were anxious and wait an hour the other day as some lights were flickering. We were part of a crowd of many waiting. The waiting is half the fun as we sat in our car singing, laughing, and drinking hot cocoa. We will be back to see the real thing as it is our Christmas tradition for our 4, 9, and 13 year old...ok ok...for the 38 and 41 year old too! Thanks so much Dr. Loggins!

I have 2 children ages 6 and 3. We got to see the lights in 2006 but has to miss it last year due to an illness in the family. My 6 yr old has asked many times over the last few weeks if we were going to go see "That awesome house" again, and my 3yr old does not remember it but asks about it when his brother brings it up. So are they on? I see from posts below that their may have been an issue last year. Please dont let a few unhappy people ruin it for the rest of the ones who love it, ps I travel an hour to see it.

My family and I are looking at having a rough Christmas this year, and the only thing we've been looking forward to is your lights! It may not seem like much, but it's one of the greatest presents you could offer anyone. It helps keep the Christmas spirit within our hearts and bring families closer together.  I am so disapointed with the attitude of this community. This display is a personal display that I'm sure took many hours to create. This is NOT a community light show that has tons of volunteers and money to put the show on. It is NOT a business that has regular hours and the community should NOT expect anything from this family, but should gracefully accept the gift they have given us. It is your choice to sit in line to view this incredible show. The Loggin's family has every right to start, stop or change the show however they like. Most of the community seems to recognize this , why can't some of you Grinches. I'm sick of the "it's all about me" attitude. This is a gift to the community and the Loggins family has every right to play what they want. As part of a military family, I was so honored that they chose to show their gratitude to those who allow us the freedom to express such Christmas spirit in this way. Gifts should be appreciated not expected!

Last year's program was awesome! My four year old was so excited to go this year that the 25 minute wait to get onto the street was not a problem because he knew what he was going to get to see. He was almost in tears when we finally got to the house and all we were permitted to see was "God Bless the USA" where nothing even happened with the lights. I realize that you put the lights up and it is your perogative on the music choice but I expected more of holiday display than a nationalistic one. I would also try to include other pieces with more "music". There seemed to be a lot of talking in the songs this year that I heard before we even got onto Vista. Hopefully next year will not be as bad!

Thank you so very much for putting on such an amazing show as your GIFT to the community and surrounding areas. I apologize for any negative or unappreciative comments left on this site. I am sure that if the posters truly thought about the hours of labor that your family put into your personal display simply to put a smile on strangers faces and share the holiday spirit that they would feel guilty for leaving such selfish remarks. Thank you for allowing us to share in your celebration of the holidays. My family and I feel priviledged. Please do not allow the comments of few to speak for the majority. happy Holidays!

I have to agree with Ashley. We drove over and hour to get there and waited at least half and hour in line. When we finally got to the house, "God Bless America" was playing. Great song but you need flashing light to it, That's what the people want to see. The guy directing the traffic let the cars stop during that song but afterwards, made people keep moving. We saw VERY little flashing lights. I was dissappointed after last years show. I still have to thank you though for you time, efforts and ingenuity. Merry Christmas

We liked it so much we decided to go back last night but we couldn't get the radio station to come in. I was just curious if you have had any problems with the radio transmitter or if someone nearby is using the same frequency for something else. Again thanks and we look forward to enjoying the display again. Sincerely, The Ritchie Family

Please don't ever stop, this is something I'd love to make a Christmas tradition for us each year. My ONLY suggestion would be this... if the police want to keep things moving they need to be right in front of the house and keep people moving there... other than that it was great and the mix of music was astounding. Thank You!

Subject:A few thoughts in regards to conservation concerns....
Hey all, I have looked at some of the pictures of the display and I am quite excited to catch a glimpse for the first time this year. However... To suggest that this display is an abhorrent disregard for our environment is quite hilarious really. I won't mention names, but someone posted a response about how the lights 'waste' electricity and the cars that stop to watch are 'wasting' gas. Last time I checked, you can do whatever you want with the electricity you pay for and you can also idle your car wherever and however long you want as well. To "waste" things in this manner just for the sake of it....would of course....be silly. To express the joy of the Christmas season and to pause a moment to take in this sight, however, is not waste. Or perhaps, the writer means to suggest if you drive a hybrid...you have the right to stop and enjoy the lights? Or if you happen to be walking by its ok? Laughable.... I hope the light show is a big event year after year, long after tree-hugging wackos have stopped ranting about how bad it is for our environment to enjoy the holidays.... Peace(and yes post 105, I am talking about you)

I am writing to express my (conflicted) concern regarding the holiday display that the Loggins family has created. Exposed and excitedly responsive to such displays in my childhood, I want to applaud the effort. However, these are difficult times…and such excess is quite troublesome. I was pleased to read on the auburnlights.com website that there are aspects of the display that result in a relative reduction in energy use. Possibly, there are other energy efficiency considerations – including a commitment to supporting renewable energy sources (Maine Interfaith Power and Light?, solar?) or other energy reduction or offset efforts (LED lights?, carbon offsets?). However, given the dramatic polluting nature of such electricity usage – and the environmental crisis we have faced for decades - such a display only reinforces our cultural denial. Further, efforts to foster such displays (as per the Lewiston Sun Journal’s request for photos) is an incentive that we cannot afford. This is further compounded by the impact of our over-reliance on the internal combustion engine – operating at minimal efficiency while idling for the display. I wish that simplistic wonder I experienced as a child could be sustained by what I am certain is only a goodwill effort on the part of the Loggins’. However, I have learned that the world is quite a bit more complicated and that the glow of a light, as attractive as it might be, often hides darker realities. Here’s to the continued awakening of our society to the personal and cultural responsibilities inherent in such pleasures. Happy Holidays! Vic Tim O’Comfort

Hi Loggins Family, Thanks so much for the nice basket! My family came up from Massachusetts last night, and they were very disappointed that your lights were not on. They have been reading about them and seeing them on TV. They wanted to know if you will be doing an encore, or is the show over for this year? If you are all done for the year, I certainly understand. I'll just tell them they'll have to come up earlier next year. Thanks for all your hard work. Frankly, this holiday season was chaotic and hectic and not a lot of fun for us. But your lights provided some much-needed entertainment and some good laughs, which we really needed. So, thanks again! Peter

Thank you so very much for this amazing light show!! Your family deserves a huge pat on the back for keeping the holiday magic alive! My whole family loved it and it was worth the 30 minute drive!! Thank you for keeping your display up until New Years Eve. Thought that we weren't going to be able to see it because of my job hours up until Christmas, but when we checked the website we were pleasanly surprised to be able to see it on Dec 28th. Thank you again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations, well done. This is probably the best display of lighting next to Disney. Came home from the mid Atlantic and was told about this. The big city folks of the Boston - Washington DC metroplex could learn something from 'small town' Maine. Keep up the good work. The TSO tunes were great, did you ever consider adding any Mannheim Steamroller??? Now my wife wants to try to recreate a smaller version in Delaware. we look forward to driving by every year.

Drove 1 hour to get there on christmas eve and the lights were on but nothing was happening. I saw on flicker of the lights, and you can't tune your radio to 88.1 unless you have and old dial radio. they don't even make them in cars anymore. So I was very dissapointed to have wasted my time on christmas eve. Not worth the drive!!

My wife and I enjoyed your light show very much. We took my Mom and my aunt to see it also, and they too liked the display. It is really heartening to see someone who really gets into the spirit of Christmas. I do also, but certainly not to that degree! Come July 4th, my home is one of the very few that is really decked out in lights, as I enjoy decorating for the vaious holidays. Admittedly, summer time is much easier when it comes to dealing with weather. Thank you for all the work. It is a beautiful display. Incidentally, I too am asssociated with CMMC. I am a night Medical Technologist in the Laboratory. Frank

Congraulations on the display. I was wondering if you would like help with traffic control next year when I am here for christmas break? I also have a few questions on how you did it and to see if I could do something of the same near my house and we could do it together and possibly charge for it. Just a thought. Matthew Conklin

My family and I live in New Gloucester and have been by twice to see the show. The first time was crowded so we didn't get to stop and listen to the music with the lights but our second trip we were able to stop for a time and enjoy both! It is absolutely mesmerizing! My five year old son thinks it's about the coolest thing he has ever seen :) Thank you so much for sharing this with the community. It is truly a wonderful gift. Sincerely, Sarah McCann

If there is a name and address that you can provide, we would like to send you a little something. My husband and I went to Vegas for our honeymoon and your display was as moving as the fountains at the the Bellagio. Thank-You for sharing your display with the public.  Hi, let me start in saying that your setup is so great. I live in Poland, Maine and I have an nice light setup too. But I would like to setup music to it too. Where did you get yours from. Also where did you get the driveway arches from too. I add ever year to it. I would like to add music to it for next year. Thanks you for your time and I hope to hear from you soon. If you get to Poland check out White Oak Hill Road and you would see it. Thanks again.

I know how hard it is to capture the show, but I can't wait to see it(i'm going on 12/21 in the evening-obvisiouly) I made a co-worker go(thought it was great except the music was 'out of sync', and he saw the show online with the guy in MN last year. I made him tell me how it is...I know you've seen the show in MN online, I just thank you for having one here in Maine. let's face it, MN is too far to drive. I live on the coast down a dead end road, I'd love to know how to do it, but think only fishermen would see it, I guess it depends on the year, this year would have been fine. Can't wait to see it live...Thank you for bringing back the "thrill of Christmas lights". We should be there 12/21. I remember driving around with my father when I was younger looking at lights. This will be thilling, I hope your neighbors get "in the mood". Merry Christmas Loggins, you have brought back memories for me....
